“While the first works were mostly done in pastel or watercolor, over the years I became more and more aware that the possibilities of oil paint for my search for a connection between the two initially separate worlds are broader. Just as a search is often characterized by wrong paths and wrong branches, oil paint makes it possible to depict the search process as part of the reflection by leaving room for it through overpainting and partial overpainting, the search as an important part of the result also visible to the viewer and thus to make it tangible. In the vast majority of cases, nature is the starting point of the search, the dissolution of this into surfaces and lines leads to a formalization and transcendence.”
